New Bus Stop Laws effective 7/15/26
With the new school year a little more than a month away, there's no better time to brush up on the traffic laws related to school buses! House Bill 7 amended KRS 158.485-490 effective 7/15/26. The statue now states that school districts may install and maintain camera systems on buses with a civil penalty for all stop arm violations. NPD Participates in Wilmore's Salute to Service 3-day Event
The City of Wilmore recently hosted a 3 day Salute to Service event at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center to honor the service and sacrifice of military veterans. 250 veterans were recognized and honored during the festivities. NPD had the privilege to assist in escorting the travelling Vietnam Wall memorial, the Cost of Freedom Memorial, and the Global War on Terror Memorial from Southland Christian Church, through Downtown Nicholasville, and on to Thomson-Hood Veterans Center

Click It or Ticket 2026
The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety takes part in the National Click It or Ticket campaign annually. Research shows that wearing your seatbelt can reduce the risk of injury or death up to 65%. The NPD Youth Academy 2026 is scheduled to be held June 22-26. Participation is open to Jessamine County students in grades 8th through 12th for the 2026-2027 school year.
