BIKES, COMMUNITY & CONNECTION

September 13, 2026

The Nicholasville Police Department recently hosted a Bike Ride & Exchange for children ages 0–17 in Jessamine County. Children were provided free bicycles and families were encouraged to bring in gently used bikes to exchange for another child to enjoy.

The event brought children, families, NPD officers, and community members together for an afternoon focused on connection, activity, and giving back. The day concluded with a community bike ride led by members of the NPD Bike Patrol.

The event was held in honor of Anthony Ruggiero, whose commitment to serving others continues to inspire the department and community.
