With Halloween being just over a week away, check out the following safety tips for a FUN and SAFE evening!
WALK Safely
Look both ways before crossing the street.
Whenever possible, cross the street at a corner/crosswalk.
Pay attention to traffic. NEVER walk out in front of a vehicle.
COSTUME Safety
Attach reflective tape to your child's costume and treat bag/bucket to make them more visible after dark.
Keep a flashlight or glowstick with you while out trick or treating to be more visible.
CANDY Safety
Though it's tempting, wait until you get home to eat any candy from your Halloween adventures so an adult can inspect your candy.
Adults - inspect commercially wrapped treats for signs of tampering like unusual coloring, pinholes, tears in the wrappers, etc. If found, discard and do not eat.
The Nicholasville Police Department will be participating in Spooky Time on Main on 10/31/25 from 6pm to 8pm in Downtown Nicholasville. Stop by the Copsicle and grab a sweet treat!
