The Nicholasville Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit is a specialized team that specifically targets the trafficking of illegal and controlled substances in our community. The team consists of four Drug Enforcement Detectives that work with Federal Drug Enforcement Agency task forces. Working closely with the Jessamine County Sheriff's Department Canine Unit and NPD's own Special Response Team (SRT), they perform controlled buys, build cases and serve search warrants on the providers of drugs that are infused into all levels of our city and county. 

NPD added a Task Force Officer to the DEA Lexington Resident Office creating the ability to serve an even wider community with combined resources and leadership.

Recent Accomplishments

5/12/2026 - SENTENCING UPDATE 

Following an investigation that was conducted by the DEA and Nicholasville Police Department, Brandon Graves has received a 66 month prison sentence.

Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Kentucky:

LONDON, Ky. – A Nicholasville, Ky., man, Brandon Graves, 33, was sentenced to 66 months imprisonment on Friday by U.S. District Judge Claria Horn Boom for possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine.

According to his plea agreement, on May 14, 2025, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Graves’ residence. During the search, officers located 81.563 grams of fentanyl, 287.98 grams of cocaine, 40.872 grams of crack cocaine, 1.819 grams of methamphetamine, 17.588 grams of psilocybin, and $18,833 in cash. Law enforcement also recovered a vacuum sealer, plastic bags, digital scales, pistol magazines, and rounds of ammunition.

Under federal law, Graves must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence. Upon his release from prison, he will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for 4 years.

Jason Parman, First Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Jim Scott, Special Agent in Charge, DEA, Louisville Field Division; and Chief Michael Fleming, Nicholasville Police Department, jointly announced the sentence.

5/14/2025

Over the course of several weeks, the Nicholasville Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation regarding an individual suspected of distributing fentanyl and cocaine. 

The investigation culminated in a search warrant being executed at 1136 Leann Lane, Nicholasville. 

The search yield approximately 335 grams of cocaine , 111 grams of fentanyl, and $18, 875 cash. 

Brandon Graves has been charged with trafficking in the first degree (fentanyl) and (cocaine). 

1/23/2026

On Thursday, January 22nd, the Nicholasville Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant listing the residence at 408 West Chestnut Street. This resulted in the arrest of Bobby Robinson and Joshua Scarbrough. 

The subsequent search yielded the following:

  1. $2,713 in currency

  2. 32.14 grams of suspected cocaine

  3. 60 Adderal

  4. 3 Handguns - one of which was confirmed stolen, another defaced

  5. 3 Long guns

  6. 23.58 grams of suspected Fentanyl

This resulted in a litany of felony offenses.

8/19/2025

The Nicholasville Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit along with members of the FBI safe streets Task Force, Georgetown PD, Lexington Metro PD, and members of the Lexington DEA completed a 6 month long investigation into Quavon Winslow. Winslow fled from a traffic stop in Lexington where he was eventually apprehended. Subsequently, approximately 1.74 kilograms of fentanyl, 1 kilogram of methamphetamine, and 24 ounces of ecstasy were located and seized. This investigation is currently active and Winslow is facing multiple charges. 

May 20, 2026

 

The Nicholasville Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at 508 Southbrook Drive.

This was the result of numerous complaints of suspected drug activity.

The ensuing search yielded approximately 2 ounces of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, and a firearm.

William Hill was placed under arrest for Trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree (fentanyl and methamphetamine) enhanced (firearm).

4/21/2026

The Nicholasville Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit - including Task Force Officers, DEA Agents, and several assisting investigators participated in an operation that resulted in the seizure of 47 kilograms of cocaine.

This amount is valued at more than $2 million.

Additionally, $15,000 and a firearm were recovered.

This was the product of an extensive investigation that required months of surveillance and intelligence gathering. 

 

The focus of these efforts has been a fentanyl and cocaine trafficking organization emanating from Mexico.

Overnight, couriers were taken into custody in the area of Man o’ War Boulevard and Boston Road in Lexington. Additionally, a search warrant was executed at the Hampton Inn on East Brannon Road in Nicholasville.

 

This cooperative effort yielded the aforementioned narcotics, currency, and firearm, while four subjects now face federal prosecution.

 

This investigation is ongoing.

10/9/2025

Today, the Nicholasville Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at 535 Peachtree Road. 

This lead to the seizure of approximately one ounce of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine as well as a firearm. 

Jennifer Lamb was placed under arrest adjacent to the following charges: 

* Trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree (fentanyl and methamphetamine) enhanced (firearm) 

* Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
