PATROL DIVISION

The Patrol Division is the Nicholasville Police Department’s direct-service provider to our community. Whether it’s a minor occurrence or a major incident, patrol’s mission is to provide prompt, courteous service and protection to the citizens of Nicholasville 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

NPD officers work a 12 hour shift schedule which allows for greater coverage with smaller numbers. A middle shift inserted this past year provides overlapping coverage during the busiest times of the day. This schedule allows our officers every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off and gives them time off to rest, reset, and decompress.

At the Nicholasville Police Department, we recognize that our officers need time and space away from the station to help maintain a healthy lifestyle.
