Youth Academy

The NPD Youth Academy initiative began in 2025. Community Services and School Resource Officer staff came together to plan week long day time programming for middle and high school students. The goals of the Youth Academy were to teach basic life skills, provide education on different areas of law enforcement, and develop positive relationships with the youth of Nicholasville. The Youth Academy sessions were divided into 2 weeks and held right here at the station. Participants in the program were selected on a first come, first served basis. There was a large response and both weeks had waiting lists!

2026 NPD Youth Academy is scheduled to be held June 22 - 26, 2026. Participation is open to Jessamine County students grades 8th through 12th for the 2026-2027 school year. Interested in registering? See your school's SRO or contact Officer Billy King at billy.king@nicholasvilleky.gov
