Nicholasville Police Department's Citizen Police Academy (CPA) is an 11 week program for community members. The goal of CPA is simple - to educate citizens on what it's like to work in law enforcement. The program provides classroom discussion, demonstrations from Specialty Units, and hand-on learning opportunities during mock traffic stops and range training.

Citizen's Police Academy is taught twice a year by NPD. Class #35 is currently in progress and is scheduled to end on November 20th. If you're interested in joining the Spring 2026 class, dates will be announced after the first of the year.
